MRI Technologist, Per Diem Day Shift

About the role

Nestled between Burbank and Pasadena, Adventist Health Glendale is one of the area's leading healthcare providers — a 515-bed hospital with two urgent cares, home care services, comprehensive cardiology care and a vast scope of services in the San Fernando Valley, and Magnet designation from the American Nurses Credentialing Center.

Produces images for medical diagnosis by operating magnetic resonance equipment. Performs procedures and calibrates and operates equipment under limited radiologist direction. Processes images and coordinates patient care with other patient services.

What you'll do

• Scan patients in accordance with established protocols and physician orders.
• Perform MRI diagnostic procedures as directed by physicians to diagnose and monitor a variety of conditions.
• Use equipment to direct strong magnetic fields and radio frequencies to create 3D images of a patient's body tissues, capturing quality images that describe composition, shape and pathology of tissues.
• Summarize, document, verify and present images, findings, calculations and measurements to physicians for diagnoses.
• Ensure compliance with local, state and federal regulations, standards and protocols.
• Prepare, administer and monitor contrast media, adhering to precaution standards.
• Obtain pertinent patient information and disseminate patient preparation instructions to patient care areas.

Requirements

• Certificate or diploma from MRI school, or Associate's degree in Radiology: Required.
• ARRT-R, ARRT-MR, or ARMRIT registration: Required.
• BLS certification from an approved vendor: Required.
• Venipuncture certification: Required in CA.

Nice to have

• Bachelor's Degree in radiologic technology or equivalent.
