About the Role

ABC7 Los Angeles has an incredible opportunity for a certified Meteorologist who is a weather expert in the studio and in the field. The ideal candidate must be a dynamic journalist and storyteller who can forecast and analyze weather conditions and tell the weather story in the most compelling way with a focus on public safety and service.

The ideal candidate is committed to working with the entire weather team, constantly exploring ways to reinvent and reimagine how weather is presented on all platforms, and has experience in AR/VR and crafting unique and impactful graphics.

This role is on-site in Los Angeles, CA.

Responsibilities

• Forecast and analyze weather conditions and present them compellingly across all platforms.
• Work closely with the entire weather team and utilize weather technology optimally.
• Craft and produce unique graphics to enhance weather storytelling.
• Explore innovative ways to present weather using AR/VR and emerging technologies.
• Focus on public safety and service in all weather presentations.

Qualifications

• Certified Meteorologist.
• Experience in broadcast meteorology and weather reporting.
• Strong on-air presence and storytelling ability.
• Experience with AR/VR and weather graphics production.
• Dynamic journalist and communicator.

The hiring range for this position in Burbank, CA is $120,000–$160,000 per year.
