Sr. Product Software Engineer, Avails Management

About the Role

As a Sr. Product Software Engineer, you'll work across Rights and Avails Management supply chain applications — the systems that govern and track rights & availability of TWDC media for Disney+ and 3rd party digital media sales. You'll take ownership of the technical design and implementation of medium-sized projects and features, collaborating closely with internal and external teams to enable robust data integration capabilities.

What You'll Do

• Maintain deep understanding of core systems and their upstream/downstream dependencies
• Contribute and review code, set standards, and ensure product and design specifications are met
• Own platform performance, scalability, and resiliency
• Influence and contribute to department technical strategy and planning
• Research and evangelize new technologies and architecture patterns
• Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers
• Lead cross-functional troubleshooting of complex issues

Requirements

• 5+ years professional software engineering experience
• Strong SQL expertise (database objects, stored procedures, query optimization, data modeling)
• Proficient in Java/JVM languages with hands-on Spring Boot, Spring Data, Spring Integration experience
• Full SDLC experience (CI, unit/integration testing, code reviews, documentation)
• Experience designing, building, and integrating APIs
• React.js, TypeScript, and CSS3 for responsive web applications
• Knowledge of OAuth, authentication, authorization, and access management
• AWS experience (S3, RDS, messaging, VPC, CloudFormation/Terraform)
• Strong understanding of data integration concepts and workflows
• Event-driven architecture (EDA) and pub/sub messaging (Kafka, RabbitMQ, SNS)
• Application health monitoring and performance experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Media distribution background
• AI-assisted coding tools experience (GitHub Copilot, Amazon Q Developer, Claude Code)
• Agile methodology experience
• Experience with globally distributed teams

Education

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software, Electrical or Electronics Engineering, or comparable field.

Pay & Benefits

$141,900–$190,300/yr (Los Angeles). Bonus and/or long-term incentive units may be provided, plus full range of medical, financial, and other benefits.
