About the Role
Facilitates communication between Deaf, Hard-of-Hearing, Deaf-Blind, and hearing consumers at CSUN's National Center on Deafness. Two levels available: Interpreter I (classroom/instruction settings) and Interpreter II (complex assignments, conferences, workshops, seminars).
Requirements
- Interpreter I: 3 years preferred experience in voice-to-sign interpreting or equivalent training
- Interpreter II A/B: Minimum 2 years paid interpreting experience (3 years/1800 hours preferred)
- Certifications required: CI, CT, NIC, and NAD
- Bachelor's degree desirable for Interpreter II
Schedule & Pay
- Interpreter I: $32.28-$41.29/hr
- Interpreter II A/B: $48.59-$59.17/hr
- Intermittent, on-call; hours vary
- Temporary, renewable annual contract (July-June)
- On-campus, Northridge, not remote
