Embedded Software Engineer - Level 2

About the Role

Northrop Grumman Defense Systems Advanced Weapons Division is seeking an Embedded Software Engineer (Level 2) in Northridge, CA. This role supports the Stand-in Attack Weapon (SiAW) Program as part of the Operational Flight Program Team. 100% on-site — no hybrid. Active Secret clearance required to start.

What You'll Do

• Implement software based on requirements and defect reports
• Work with systems and software engineers to develop software architecture models
• Support verification and validation of software products to ensure integrated CSCIs function as intended
• Participate in embedded software development including implementation, testing, and system integration
• Develop software in RTOS environments such as VxWorks

Requirements

• BS in Engineering + 2 years of software engineering experience with embedded systems exposure (MS with any embedded exposure also considered)
• Experience developing in RTOS such as VxWorks
• Ability to read code and verify implementation per Software Requirements Specifications
• Experience integrating embedded software with hardware, including troubleshooting hardware/software interface issues
• Current US Government Secret clearance adjudicated within the past 5 years

Preferred

• Experience with embedded communication protocols (UART, RS-232/422, CAN, ARINC 429)
• Background in aerospace and defense technologies

Pay & Benefits

• $91,800–$137,600/year
