About the Role
Traffic Administration Manager at Northrop Grumman Advanced Weapons in Northridge, CA. Oversees domestic and international transportation and shipping operations for defense program execution, ensuring critical hardware moves securely, on schedule, and in compliance with government and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities
- Lead day-to-day traffic and transportation administration for inbound and outbound shipments
- Manage shipment planning, routing, carrier selection, and freight coordination
- Oversee compliance with import/export, hazardous materials, and government shipping requirements
- Coordinate with procurement, warehouse, manufacturing, quality, contracts, and program teams
- Review and approve shipping documentation, freight invoices, routing instructions, and transportation records
- Monitor carrier performance, delivery metrics, and claims; drive corrective actions
- Develop and maintain transportation procedures, work instructions, and controls
- Manage 3PLs, freight forwarders, and parcel/freight carriers to optimize service and cost
- Analyze transportation data to improve on-time delivery and reduce freight expense
- Lead, coach, and develop traffic administration personnel
Basic Qualifications
- BS in supply chain, logistics, business, or related field + 5 yrs; or MS + 3 yrs; or 9 yrs experience in lieu of degree
- Knowledge of freight routing, shipping documentation, carrier management, and transportation cost control
- Familiarity with import/export controls, hazardous materials, and government/defense shipping
- Ability to obtain U.S. DoW Secret Clearance
Preferred Qualifications
- DoW, aerospace, or government-contracting experience
- Knowledge of ITAR, EAR, Defense Transportation Regulation
- ERP, WMS, and TMS systems experience
- CTL, APICS/ASCM, or similar logistics credential
Pay & Benefits
$100,000–$150,000/yr. Bonus-eligible; health insurance, life/disability insurance, savings plan, paid holidays, and PTO.
