Telematics Installer

About the Role

Telematics Installer at EquipmentShare's rental facility in Canoga Park, CA. Responsible for installing and repairing telematics systems and devices on vehicles, construction equipment, and heavy equipment.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM. Overtime pay after 40 hours. Subject to on-call scheduling with additional compensation.

What You'll Do

• Install telematics system and devices on vehicles, construction equipment, heavy equipment, and customer assets
• Remove and replace ignition systems and integrate communication between keypad and telematics systems
• Work through installation scenarios ranging from basic (power, ignition, ground) to complex (custom wiring harnesses, CAN network integration)
• Identify and resolve problems; develop alternative solutions when needed
• Travel to client sites and EquipmentShare rental yards throughout the region
• Occasionally work outside of business hours and on weekends

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent (Trade School Certificate preferred)
• Mechanical aptitude; good with hands and tools
• Experience in a related field (electrician, HVAC tech, car audio installer, automotive electronics technician, or similar)
• Proficient with iPhone/mobile phone and basic computer navigation
• Must be able to travel within a 250-mile radius of the local branch for up to a week at a time
• Ability to drive, maneuver in tight spaces, bend, squat, walk long distances, and lift more than 25 lbs
• Clean driving record; must pass a background check and 10-panel drug screen
• This is a safety-sensitive position
