About the Role

HomeState is a Tex-Mex kitchen in Southern California. "We serve tacos, queso, brisket, and margaritas, but more than that, we serve each other." This Kitchen Team Member role is based at the Sherman Oaks location.

What You'll Do

• Follow sanitation standards, portion sizes, recipes, and cooking methods
• Assist with receiving and storing orders, maintaining proper temperature control
• Learn all kitchen stations; regulate cooking equipment and check product quality
• Maintain stock levels and read KDS screen orders
• Take initiative, communicate openly, and work as part of a team
• Keep workstations, equipment, and the facility clean and sanitized

Requirements

• 1-2 years restaurant kitchen experience preferred
• Personable and comfortable working with a diverse team
• Available weekends, days, and evenings
• Valid Food Handlers Certification Card (or completion within 30 days of hire)
• Able to stand 6+ hours, lift up to 40 lbs, work near heat/flames and in tight spaces

Schedule

Must be available nights and weekends.
