Senior Network Engineer (Project Hire)

About the Role

At Walt Disney Animation Studios, the Platform and Infrastructure group is responsible for the design, implementation, and support of the critical infrastructure behind the content the studio creates. This Senior Network Engineer role joins the Network Services team, responsible for installation, monitoring, support, and maintenance of data networks inside and outside the Burbank and Vancouver studio locations as well as cloud providers.

What You'll Do

• Partner with stakeholders and technical teams to deploy, manage, and optimize on-premises and cloud network infrastructure
• Install and configure networking technology from Cisco (IOS/NXOS), Arista, Aruba Clearpass, and Palo Alto Networks
• Configure networking across Linux, macOS, Windows, VMs/containers, mobile devices, and storage clusters
• Provide 24x7 operational technical support and troubleshoot networking devices and routing architectures
• Conduct root-cause analysis for service interruptions and establish preventive measures
• Manage vendor relationships, support/maintenance contracts, and the yearly networking budget

Requirements

• Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience
• 5+ years designing and implementing network solutions for large-scale, high-performance environments
• Expert-level knowledge of Layer 1-4 networking (cabling/optical, Ethernet, MLAG/LACP, VLANs, 802.1X, wireless, EIGRP/BGP/OSPF, VPNs, DHCP/DNS/NTP/SNMP/LDAP, etc.)
• Knowledge of Linux, macOS, or other Unix-based operating systems

Schedule

On-site, Burbank studio, with 24x7 operational coverage responsibilities. This is a Project Hire (fixed-term) position.

Pay

$129,300–$173,300/year
