KABC Meteorologist/Weather Reporter

About the Role

ABC7 Los Angeles is seeking a certified Meteorologist who is a weather expert in the studio and in the field — a dynamic journalist and storyteller who can forecast and communicate weather with a focus on public safety and service. This role is on-site.

What You'll Do

• Forecast and communicate weather across multiple platforms; strong reporting, writing, and interviewing
• Tell high-impact breaking weather stories from the studio and in the field
• Collaborate with the weather team, producers, and managers before, during, and after newscasts
• Use social media for promotion and news gathering; represent the station at community events

Requirements

• Certified Meteorologist with strong forecasting and computer-model skills
• Proficient in producing weather graphics; experience anchoring and field reporting in multiple markets
• Schedule flexibility (weekends, mornings, holidays); Bachelor's degree and weather certification

Preferred: 4+ years on-air in a major market; AR/VR weather production; Adobe Premiere/Dalet; bilingual.
