Senior Business Analyst, Payments

A local credit union or financial institution is seeking a Senior Business Analyst specializing in Payments. This is a hybrid position.

Overview

The Business Analyst SR - Payments is a senior-level role responsible for defining, shaping, and executing the enterprise Payments strategy. This position serves as a key strategic partner to leadership, with broad accountability for advancing payment capabilities, identifying opportunities for innovation and growth, and ensuring payment initiatives align with organizational goals, regulatory requirements, and evolving member expectations.

Responsibilities

• Lead definition and execution of enterprise payments strategy
• Serve as primary subject matter expert on payment systems, rails, and regulations
• Analyze current payment capabilities and identify gaps and opportunities
• Define business requirements for payment technology initiatives and system implementations
• Collaborate with IT, operations, compliance, and vendor partners
• Monitor industry trends, regulatory changes, and emerging payment technologies
• Develop business cases and ROI analyses for payment investments
• Present strategic recommendations to senior leadership

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, Information Systems, or related field
• 5+ years of business analysis experience with focus on payments or financial services
• Deep knowledge of payment systems and rails (ACH, Zelle, RTP, card networks, etc.)
• Experience with requirements documentation, process mapping, and stakeholder management
• Strong analytical and data interpretation skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in credit union or banking environment
• Payments industry certification (APRP, CPP)
• Experience with digital wallet or emerging payment technologies

Salary Range

$91,676–$142,098/year. Comprehensive benefits package.
