About the role
Performs peace officer duties protecting life and property for the City of Burbank.
What you'll do
- Patrol an assigned area by foot, bicycle, motorcycle, or vehicle
- Enforce local, state, and federal laws; respond to calls and investigate incidents
- Conduct preliminary and follow-up investigations of crimes, accidents, and hazardous situations
- Make arrests, collect evidence, and testify in court
- Provide backup assistance and work special assignments/details
Requirements
- Good moral character with no felony convictions; physically fit
- Knowledge of criminal codes, investigative techniques, and rules of evidence
- Ability to communicate effectively with a culturally diverse population
- Willingness to work rotating shifts and overtime with little notice
Recruitment process
Candidates who pass the minimum qualification phase are invited to the physical agility test on Saturday, August 29, 2026 at 9am. Lateral hires are eligible for a $20,000 signing bonus ($10,000 at hire, $10,000 after probation).
Pay & benefits
Salary range: $109,258–$136,448/yr.
