About the Role
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Software Engineering Manager 2 to lead Agile Development teams in Woodland Hills, CA. The successful candidate will be collaborative, team-oriented, and focused on continuous learning and a culture of automation.
What You'll Do
- Manage and lead a team in a fast-paced, high-expectations environment
- Direct teams delivering technical solutions in an agile software development environment
- Participate in planning and program performance (cost, schedule, technical, quality)
- Manage staffing and report status and metrics to program and functional leadership
- Provide career guidance, coaching, interviewing/onboarding, and direct engagement for direct reports
- Develop and implement robust processes with emphasis on continuous improvement
- Interface with program leaders to coordinate staffing requirements and skill mix
- Mentor team members and support career development planning
Requirements
- Bachelor's in STEM + 8 years relevant experience, or Master's in STEM + 6 years
- Experience with the full SDLC: design, requirements, development, integration, testing, deployment
- Proficiency in C, Python, and/or Ada (at least two)
- Experience with Jira, ClearCase, Git, ClearQuest
- Demonstrated ability to lead and manage agile development teams
- Knowledge of IBM DOORS or similar requirements management tools
- Ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Secret clearance
- Must work full-time on-site in Woodland Hills, CA
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's in technical field + 6 years, or Ph.D. + 3 years
- Experience with failure-analysis techniques (RCCAs)
- Technical project management and EVMS expertise
- Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) experience
- Active DoD Secret clearance

$161,100–$241,700
