Lead Cleaner - 1st Shift

About the role

Responsible for coordinating, scheduling and supervising the activities of the building/facility cleaning staff, ensuring that the cleaners keep offices, hallways, stairs, and other areas within the building in clean and orderly condition. May also supervise the clean-up and basic maintenance of the surrounding grounds and premises.

What you'll do

• Supervise, schedule and assign the cleaning staff in the daily interior cleaning of the building (waste removal, vacuuming/shampooing floors and carpets, dusting, restroom cleaning/restocking, mopping, window cleaning, etc.)
• Assign tasks and inspect building areas to ensure work has been done properly; issue supplies and equipment and manage inventory
• May assist with screening/hiring, training, performance reviews, and promotion/transfer recommendations
• May prepare reports on room occupancy, hours worked, staff assignments, and department expenses
• May supervise exterior building/grounds cleaning, snow removal, and basic maintenance (walls, windows, parking lots, walkways, gardens, curbs/gutters, exterior stairwells)
• May assign staff to minor maintenance/repair work (painting, light bulb/fixture replacement, moving furniture, door/gate repairs, minor landscaping, simple plumbing repairs)
• Promptly respond to and notify management of spills, emergencies, repair needs, and safety issues
• Ensure proper, safe operation of cleaning and snow removal equipment, tools, and chemical/cleaning agents
• Organize and maintain Safety Data Sheets (SDS's); ensure staff is trained on the Hazard Communication Program and proper safety gear; dispose of cleaning agents/chemicals in accordance with SDS and governing bodies

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED preferred
• A minimum of 2 years related experience preferred
• Key competencies: organization, communication, flexibility, detail orientation, thoroughness, collaboration, results orientation

$18.47 - $18.87/hr
