About the Role
Laboratory Technician 2 at Northrop Grumman in Woodland Hills, CA. Supports test operations by managing inertial navigation laboratories, tracking test equipment assets, coordinating calibration and maintenance of tools, and assisting with test preparation for complex systems. What You'll Do
- Manage and track test equipment assets, including inventory updates and documentation
- Serve as a point of contact for routine engineering lab operations and readiness needs
- Coordinate repair activities for malfunctioning test equipment; prepare documentation and submit service requests
- Coordinate calibration, maintenance, and repair of tools and equipment
- Prepare test setups including staging hardware and configuring fixtures, cables, and instrumentation
- Maintain organized test areas in accordance with procedures
- Communicate equipment status, calibration schedules, and issues to engineers and test leads
- Collaborate with engineering, test, and program management on upcoming test needs
Basic Qualifications
- High school diploma with 2 years of relevant experience
- Experience in an engineering lab, test environment, or manufacturing setting
- Ability to follow written procedures, engineering instructions, and safety guidelines
- Basic understanding of hand tools, test equipment, and mechanical/electrical hardware
- US Citizenship required
- Ability to obtain and maintain a US Government Secret security clearance
- Must work onsite full-time in Woodland Hills, CA
Preferred Qualifications
- Technical coursework or vocational training in electronics, mechanics, or engineering technology
- Understanding of electrical and/or mechanical drawings and schematics
- Experience supporting setup and execution of tests on complex systems
- Experience with legacy Windows OS and Linux
- Working knowledge of ESD handling and safety practices
Pay & Benefits
$47,200–$78,600/yr. Eligible for overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonus. Benefits include health insurance, life and disability insurance, savings plan, paid holidays, and PTO.
