About the Role
Northrop Grumman Mission Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer for Integration & Test in Woodland Hills, CA. This role supports the Navigation and Cockpit Systems business unit. The position may be filled at either the Systems Engineer – Integration & Test or Principal Systems Engineer – Integration & Test level.
What You'll Do
- Synthesize customer contractual needs and requirements into system test solutions accounting for technical, schedule, and cost constraints
- Develop and direct comprehensive test plans, procedures, and schedules for complete systems, including formal qualification strategies using Microsoft Word, Excel, and DOORS
- Develop test scripts to automate test campaigns
- Coordinate integrated testing activities
- Review and evaluate test requirements to ensure completeness of the test program
- Perform technical analysis of complete systems and prepare comprehensive system-level evaluations
- Conduct formal technical reviews, including Test Readiness Reviews (TRRs), with internal stakeholders and external customers
- Assess performance of Navigation Systems and Mission Computers by analyzing data using MATLAB or similar software
- Act as primary technical point of contact during test events, managing customer expectations and reporting results
Basic Qualifications
Systems Engineer – Integration & Test:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM with 2 years of engineering experience; OR Master's degree in STEM
- Experience authoring test procedures, managing test facility interfaces, and ensuring data integrity
- Experience with test execution, diagnostics, and formal requirement decomposition
- Experience creating automated test scripts that integrate with hardware interfaces
- Proficiency in at least one of: MATLAB, C, C++, C#, Python
- U.S. Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain U.S. Government Secret security clearance
- Ability to work onsite full-time in Woodland Hills, CA
Principal Systems Engineer – Integration & Test:
- Bachelor's degree in STEM with 5 years of related test experience; OR Master's in STEM with 3 years; OR PhD in STEM with 1 year
- Same technical requirements as above
Preferred Qualifications
- Active U.S. Government Secret security clearance
- Experience integrating embedded GPS Inertial Navigation Systems
- Experience with GNSS/INS/EGI systems and precision navigation simulation
- Experience with overhead lifting, Thermal Chambers, and Vibration Test systems
- Analytical coding experience
- Demonstrated leadership of System Test efforts
- Experience engaging external customers through meetings, presentations, and technical negotiations
Pay & Benefits
$91,800–$137,600/yr (Systems Engineer level); $114,000–$171,000/yr (Principal level)
