Laboratory Assistant II – On Call

About the Role

Kaiser Permanente Panorama City is seeking an on-call, day-shift Laboratory Assistant II. This role performs venipuncture, skin puncture, and pre-analytical/post-analytical steps of laboratory testing.

What You'll Do

• Perform venipuncture, finger stick, or heel stick on patients of all ages
• Select appropriate phlebotomy technique based on patient age and physical maturation
• Properly label samples and transport to the laboratory or Clinical Laboratory Scientist
• Perform pre-analytical testing phases: bar coding, centrifuging, separating, logging, culturing, and staining of bacteriological specimens
• Monitor and maintain appropriate inventory levels of supplies and reagents
• Handle difficult patients professionally; maintain courteous relations with patients and staff

Requirements

• Phlebotomy experience required
• Ability to follow directives and display professionalism at all times
