About the Role

ABC7 Los Angeles is seeking experienced television Newswriters for freelance employment — a great opportunity to join one of the top stations in the country. The ideal candidate can write scripts, edit video, and produce newscasts when necessary. This role is on-site, working from ABC7's Glendale location on an ongoing basis.

What You'll Do

• Write and produce for newscasts as assigned
• Edit video and booth newscasts
• Work with reporters, editors, and directors to shape stories and newscasts

Requirements

• Minimum of two years broadcast news experience
• Ability to work quickly under continuous deadlines
• Scheduling flexibility, including weekends, overnights, and holidays
• Bachelor's degree required

Preferred: Knowledge of Dalet, line producing, non-linear editing, Ross Expression, and touch-screen technology

Pay & Benefits

Daily payment in-lieu of benefits, with potential additional compensation for overtime, producing, and early morning or overnight shifts, per the Collective Bargaining Agreement pay scale.
