About the Role
Mid-management classification with general supervisory oversight of crews performing construction, maintenance, and repair of overhead and underground electrical transmission, distribution, and street light systems for Glendale's electric utility.
What You'll Do
- Plan, supervise, and direct crews in construction/maintenance of overhead and underground electrical systems
- Supervise splicing/termination of high- and low-voltage underground cables, transformer vault work, and pole riser work
- Oversee pole setting, tree trimming, line clearance, insulator washing, and street light work
- Read and interpret electrical plans/maps; coordinate with developers and customers
- Supervise safety training and hazardous-materials cleanup/disposal
Requirements
- Three years as a lead worker in a classification equivalent to Electrical Line Mechanic Supervisor I, or completion of the Electrical Line Mechanic Apprenticeship Program
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Valid California Class C driver's license
- Knowledge of CPUC General Orders 95/128, National Electric Code, and OSHA rules
