Diagnostic Imaging Technologist – Radiology II, Woodland Hills (Per Diem, Day Shift)

About the Role

Under indirect supervision, operates radiographic equipment to produce radiographs used by physicians to diagnose disease, pathology, and/or trauma. This Radiologic Technologist II role performs the full range of diagnostic exams, including complex studies such as sialography, bronchography, arthrography, plain tomographic studies, and myelography.

• Explains procedures to patients to reduce anxiety and obtain cooperation
• Accommodates patients' cultural, lifestyle, and developmental differences across all age groups
• Documents clinical activities accurately and maintains equipment, supplies, and work area per department guidelines

Clinical Duties

• Operates x-ray/imaging consoles, portable units, tube assemblies, collimators, and auxiliary equipment (tomographic units, image intensifiers, CR/digital imaging, C-arms) for diagnostic exams including GI studies and plain tomography
• Prepares and administers oral, intestinal, and IV contrast media, or assists the radiologist
• Ensures correct patient ID and left/right markers on all films; centers tube and film to area of interest
• Adjusts technique and positioning based on patient history and condition
• Observes radiation safety protocols; uses lead shielding and collimation as appropriate
• Critiques radiographs for diagnostic quality, consulting a supervisor or radiologist as needed
• Completes requisitions with all required information
