Avionics Technician I

Position Summary

The Aircraft Avionics Technician is responsible for performing maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations on aircraft avionics systems in accordance with FAA regulations and Clay Lacy Aviation standards.

• Location: Van Nuys, CA (KVNY)
• Shift: Monday–Friday, 7am–4pm
• Compensation: $36.37–$46.00/hour; eligible for a comprehensive benefits package.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations as directed.
• Utilize current and approved technical data for all work performed.
• Document all maintenance activities, discrepancies, and corrective actions per FAA and company requirements.
• Ensure parts and materials are properly received, inspected, and meet shelf-life/airworthiness requirements before installation.
• Verify calibration status and condition of all tooling prior to use.
• Accurately document removal and installation of aircraft components.
• Identify and document discrepancies using appropriate forms and procedures.
• Adhere to company policies, FAA regulations, and OSHA safety requirements.
• Maintain proficiency in avionics systems, tools, and acceptable maintenance practices.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives.
• Maintain reliable attendance and flexibility, including shifts and weekends.
• Travel as required for training or operational support.

• Lift, carry, push, and pull up to 50–75 lbs.
• Perform tasks requiring hand-eye coordination and fine motor skills.
