Position Summary
The Aircraft Maintenance Supervisor I is responsible for the efficient execution of the work scope and the maintenance, preventive maintenance, and alterations performed under the authority of the Clay Lacy FAA Certificated Repair Station, and promotes the Clay Lacy Aviation vision, mission and values to create a positive team environment.
- Location: Van Nuys, CA (KVNY)
- Shift: Tuesday–Friday (4/10 Schedule), Swing Shift
- Compensation: $57.15–$68.00/hour; eligible for a comprehensive benefits package including medical, dental, and vision insurance.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Works with Aircraft Controllers and the Quality Assurance Inspector to efficiently execute the aircraft work scope, and communicates effectively with customers.
- Promotes an environment that provides the team with opportunities to succeed.
- Contributes to annual performance evaluations and monitors employee performance.
- Attends the customer debrief meeting for all assigned aircraft.
- Assigns maintenance technicians, QC and support shop technicians to tasks and monitors performance to plan.
- Supervises daily activities to ensure maximum efficiency, on-schedule and on-budget completion.
- Monitors and controls overtime.
- Ensures qualified personnel are assigned to every task using applicable technical data.
- Assists the operations manager in identifying additional technical training needs.
- Ensures aircraft maintenance paperwork and forms are completed per the Clay Lacy Repair Station Manual.
- Provides comprehensive shift turnovers for maximum efficiency.
- Manages aircraft downtime and schedule for timely, quality delivery.
- Collaborates with the assigned Controller or Aircraft Maintenance Manager on Work Order Squawk Form approval.
- Collaborates with the assigned QA Inspector to achieve aircraft approval for return to service.
- Ensures crews maintain good housekeeping and a clean, safe environment.
- Ensures crews follow safety precautions and inspects equipment for OSHA compliance.
- Supervises a continuous safety program covering support equipment, aircraft systems, housekeeping, and hazardous materials.
- Observes and administers company rules, safety policy, and standard operating procedures.
