Academic Advisor (Multiple positions)

California State University, Northridge (CSUN) is hiring multiple Academic Advisors to support student success at their Northridge campus.

About the Role

Academic Advisors at CSUN help students navigate degree requirements, develop educational plans, and connect with campus resources to support their academic and personal success.

Responsibilities

• Advise students on degree requirements, course selection, and academic planning
• Develop and monitor individualized academic plans in collaboration with students
• Identify students at academic risk and connect them with appropriate support services
• Interpret and apply university academic policies and procedures
• Maintain accurate student records and documentation in the advising system
• Facilitate group advising sessions, workshops, and orientations
• Collaborate with faculty, departments, and student services offices
• Support retention and graduation initiatives

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required; Master's degree preferred
• Experience in academic advising, student affairs, or related field in higher education
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills
• Commitment to student success and equity

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree in education, counseling, or related field
• Bilingual (English/Spanish)
• Familiarity with CSUN or CSU system programs and resources
