VP, Film Business & Legal Affairs

About the Role

Legendary Entertainment, a leading media company spanning film, television, digital media, and comics, is hiring a VP of Film Business & Legal Affairs in Burbank, CA to provide critical business and legal affairs support across the lifecycle of its feature film projects.

What You'll Do

• Negotiate and structure agreements for film development, production, and distribution, including talent, financing, co-financing, and distribution deals
• Draft and finalize contracts aligned with studio objectives
• Provide strategic guidance on deal structuring
• Collaborate cross-functionally with creative, production, marketing, finance, and distribution teams
• Analyze legal risks and ensure regulatory compliance
• Partner with external stakeholders including talent representatives and financiers

Requirements

• JD from a top-tier law school strongly preferred; admission to the California Bar required
• At least 10 years of experience in business and legal affairs at a film studio, major indie production company, or entertainment law firm
• Extensive deal negotiation experience
• Strong understanding of intellectual property and entertainment law
• Exceptional drafting and organizational skills

Schedule

Full-time.

• $180,000–$230,000 annual base salary, plus discretionary bonuses and short- and long-term incentives
