Vice President, Unscripted Content

About the Role

NBCUniversal is hiring a VP, Unscripted Content to oversee development, production, and post-production of unscripted programming across NBC's portfolio, driving audience engagement and reinforcing NBC's position as an industry leader.

What You'll Do

• Manages the development pipeline: pitches, presentations, pilots, proof-of-concepts, step deals, first-season orders
• Serves as primary NBC liaison for assigned productions, building relationships with production companies, producers, and talent
• Oversees production/post-production for alignment with creative vision, budgets, and NBC quality standards
• Provides creative feedback on format development, casting, story structure, and more
• Attends shoots and tapings for creative guidance and executive oversight
• Collaborates with Marketing, Communications, Research, Programming, and Ad Sales
• Reviews budgets, schedules, and financial plans

Requirements

• 10+ years of experience in alternative/unscripted TV programming, production, development, or content strategy
• Demonstrated success developing and launching alternative formats, competition series, and talent-driven content
• Experience managing budgets, production schedules, and external production partners
• Deep understanding of competition formats, reality programming, and live/event-style programming
