About the Role
Manages the City of Burbank's urban forestry program: monitoring performance, production, and quality of work; serving as a liaison between the City and community on urban forestry matters; and providing administrative support to the assigned supervisor.
What You'll Do
- Review, negotiate, and administer maintenance and service contracts; use tree inventory data collection and analysis software
- Review, recommend, and approve tree removal permits
- Develop the annual tree trimming, removal, and planting schedule, including Urban Forest Master Plan activities
- Investigate and resolve public complaints regarding tree location or condition
- Use GIS mapping software; manage tree claims and represent the City in legal proceedings as needed
- Prepare and present written reports and analysis to City Council and other audiences
Requirements
Combination of education and/or experience providing the knowledge, skills, and abilities for the role — typically graduation from an accredited college or university with coursework in park planning, landscape architecture, or horticulture.
