About the Role
Northrop Grumman Defense Systems is currently seeking a Systems Requirements & Development Engineer Level 3/4 to support our SiAW missile program with our talented Advanced Weapons team.
This position is required to be full-time, on-site in the Northridge, CA location. No remote/telework arrangement is available for this position.
The ideal candidate will have experience in the systems engineering lifecycle of missile/weapon systems development program(s), supporting concepts/mission and requirements development as well as verification planning and compliance assessment, with technical knowledge in one or more subsystems (RF/sensors, guidance, navigation, control, telemetry/communication, airframe). This candidate will work directly with the program's Systems Engineering Integrated Product Team (IPT) Lead.
Responsibilities
- Support system requirements development, management, analysis, and traceability, to translate customer requirements and CONOPS into systems requirements, and further allocate to lower-level requirements
- Perform functional analysis and systems trade studies for technical solutions with respect to concept, design, fabrication, test, installation, operation, and maintenance
- Generate well-defined and executable system and subsystem requirements documents, interface documents, and test and verification documents
- Support the development of system architecture & design, and test architecture on complex weapon systems in a digital environment
- Support development of technical volume and cost volume for proposal; use historical actuals to develop Basis of Estimates (BOEs)
- Support system/subsystems integration, test, and requirements verification activities with other functions such as software and hardware
- Support systems engineering metrics and technical performance measurement tracking
- Support the preparation of system engineering materials during System Requirements Review, System Functional Review, Preliminary Design Review, Critical Design Review, System Verification Review, Test Readiness Review, and other program reviews as needed
- Interface with inter-organizational management and external customer to communicate technical briefing and program status
- Support Program Management activities to ensure cost and schedule objectives are met; support program status efforts including Earned Value Management System (EVMS) tracking and Control Account Management (CAM) activities
- Support the management of critical subcontractors developing and testing tactical missile technologies and delivery of quality products
Clearance Requirements
- Active US Government DoD Secret security clearance required
- Travel: approximately 10% of the time
