Sterile Processing Technician II, Evening Shift

About the Role

Decontaminates, cleans, packages, sterilizes, stores, and distributes medical/surgical equipment and supplies in accordance with CDC, OSHA, EPA, AAMI, Title 22, APIC, SGNA, and JC guidelines.

What You'll Do

• Fill orders from requesting departments
• Make equipment rounds, return soiled equipment to SPD, clean per manufacturer recommendations, and validate functionality
• Answer phones
• Inventory and restock supplies and specialty carts (isolation, latex, crash carts, etc.)
• Order specialty beds and other patient equipment
• Disassemble, clean, or decontaminate surgical instruments including ultrasonic cleaning
• Assemble, inspect, test, wrap, and date all OR sets including specialty sets
• Operate all SPD equipment: steam sterilizers, plasma sterilizers, automated endoscope reprocessors, biological incubators, heat sealers, instrument and cart washers
• Use instrument and equipment tracking system; document tests and sterilizer records
• Examine and maintain integrity of sterile packages
• Prepare OR case carts according to preference cards for all surgical procedures
• Promote and improve customer service to internal and external customers
• Perform other related duties as assigned
