About the Role

Assists the surgical team in preparing operating room procedures. Creates and maintains a sterile field, performs a variety of technical skills, and coordinates resources to reduce turnaround times. Performs level I, II, and III surgical cases.

What You'll Do

• Prepare for each surgical case by checking required supplies and equipment
• Assemble supplies/equipment and set up operative instrumentation/sterile field
• Complete instrument, sponge, needle, and blade counts with the RN per established standards
• Maintain sterile field with careful attention to aseptic technique
• Train staff and students on new equipment, instrumentation, and procedures
• Transport patients per unit schedules

Requirements

• Certified Surgical Technologist (CST): Required
• BLS certification: Required
• High School diploma/GED: Required
• Associate's/Technical Degree: Preferred
• 2 years' technical experience: Preferred
