Sr. Audiologist Per Diem, Day Shift

What You'll Do

Conducts tests for description and diagnosis of auditory pathology to neonatal, pediatric and geriatric patients. Conducts programs of rehabilitation for the hearing handicapped, and consults in the diagnostic and rehabilitation services for the speech and language disordered individual. Communicates with physicians, hearing aid dispensers, community resources, patient and family in order to develop and implement an appropriate plan of care. Provides clinical care efficiently and effectively using a high level of technical and organizational skills as well as critical thinking ability. Models/mentors and trains staff on technical skills.

• Performs patient care and creates treatment programs in accordance with identified needs. Evaluates patient's response to interventions. Modifies treatment plan appropriately. Conducts hearing aid selection and orientation, and consults with patient and family regarding problems and implications.
• Documents timely in accordance with established policies and procedures for regulatory/payer compliance. Performs chart audits.
• Provides supervision to hearing technicians, students and volunteers. Participates in orientation and training; assists others in resolving routine problems.
• Performs consultations, evaluations and assessments. Administers diagnostic hearing tests including audiological evaluations, impedance testing, site of lesion testing, electronystagmography testing and auditory brain stem evoked response testing. Serves as technical specialist and trains/mentors staff.
• Assists in the maintenance and calibration of audiology equipment per infection control recommendations.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in audiology or speech language pathology or equivalent (Required)
• Master's Degree (Preferred)
• Three years' audiologist experience (Preferred)
• Audiology licensure in the state of practice (Required)
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) or Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy (Required)
• Certificate of Clinical Competence in Audiology (Preferred)
• Audiology (AUD) or State Audiology (SAUD) (Required)
