Software Development Engineer — Amazon Leo (Embedded Systems)

About the Role

Software Development Engineer for Amazon Leo, Amazon's low Earth orbit satellite internet network. Early-career position (Class of 2027) based in Northridge, CA, working on embedded systems to bring fast, reliable connectivity to underserved locations worldwide.

What You'll Do

• Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams to design, build, and operate innovative services
• Break down complex problems into well-defined, solvable components
• Contribute to design and development of scalable, reliable services
• Conduct code reviews and validate correctness
• Write clean, maintainable code following best practices
• Use GenAI and AI-powered tools to enhance development productivity
• Work in an agile CI/CD environment with on-call duties

Requirements

• Pursuing or recently completed a bachelor's or master's in CS, Computer Engineering, Data Science, or related STEM field
• Experience with at least one general-purpose programming language (Java, Python, C++, Go, Rust, TypeScript)
• Experience with data structures, algorithms, and/or object-oriented design
• Must be 18+

Preferred

• Previous technical internship(s) or project experience
• Cloud platforms (AWS), database systems, open-source contributions

Pay & Benefits

$139,000/year (Northridge, CA location). Day 1 benefits include EAP, mental health support, 401(k) matching.
