About the role
The Senior Mechanical Engineer provides engineering support for existing and new theme park attractions (rides and shows), including downtime investigation, troubleshooting, reverse engineering, and redesign to ensure daily operational readiness.
What you'll do
- Responds to sustaining engineering calls and troubleshoots recurring design or maintenance issues
- Performs re-engineering for attractions including mechanical, structural, hydraulic, and pneumatic systems
- Produces scope of work for capital design projects and manages progress from design through installation
- Monitors and interfaces with vendors/design-builders to resolve problems and design issues
- Oversees mock-up, prototype, installation, test, and adjustment of show and ride systems
- Partners with Universal Creative in the development of new attractions
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering required; Master's preferred
- 7+ years mechanical/structural detailed design experience with dynamic motion systems
- 3+ years project engineering experience in mechanical/structural systems
Schedule & pay
5-day workweek onsite; may include additional nights/weekends when necessary. Salary range: $125,000–$155,000/year.
