Medical Assistant – Internal Medicine / Endocrine

About the Role

As a Medical Assistant at Cedars-Sinai in the Internal Medicine / Endocrine department, you'll be responsible for positive patient relations, preliminary physical tests, appointment scheduling, and supporting providers during examinations.

Responsibilities

• Take blood pressure, weight, and temperature; report patient history summaries
• Administer immunizations, injections, or oral medications as directed by provider
• Draw and prepare lab work and specimens
• Perform designated diagnostic tests based on scope of practice
• Assist provider during examinations and procedures
• Schedule appointments and maintain patient demographics and insurance information
• Function as scribe when required, transcribing physician-dictated notes and orders
• Adhere to infection prevention standards

Requirements

• High School Diploma/GED
• Medical Assistant Certificate from an accredited educational program
• Basic Life Support Certification (American Heart Association or American Red Cross) required upon hire

Preferred Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant in an outpatient clinical or medical office setting
