About the Role
Performs lifeguard and instructor duties at multiple City of Burbank municipal swimming pools.
What You'll Do
- Enforce pool rules and maintain discipline; rescue swimmers in distress
- Administer first aid and CPR
- Instruct or assist with classes in diving, swimming, basic and emergency water safety, and water sports
- Assist with general maintenance and clean-up, including filters and chlorinators
- Conduct chlorine/acid level tests; officiate swim and dive meets
Requirements
- Knowledge of lifesaving and first aid techniques
- Valid First Aid Certificate (meeting EMS Authority requirements), Water Safety Instructor's Certificate, and Lifeguard Certificate at time of appointment
- Valid CPR and Communicable Disease Certificates within two weeks of appointment
- Valid CA Class "C" driver's license or equivalent may be required
