About the Role
CSUN's Academic Affairs division seeks an Instructional Designer to design and deliver faculty development programming and provide instructional design consultation, supporting teaching, learning, and faculty success through collaborative, data-informed, equity-minded practices.
What You'll Do
- Serve as a resource on AI in teaching and learning, facilitating programming for faculty across varying perspectives
- Design, develop, and facilitate faculty development programming in multiple formats (in-person, hybrid, online, self-paced, facilitated)
- Consult with faculty using evidence-based strategies and technology practices, with a focus on serving diverse and neurodivergent student populations
- Contribute to Faculty Development programs, including event planning and coordination
- Research and evaluate emerging technologies, recommending best practices in instructional design and learning science
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in a related field plus two years of relevant experience (additional experience or an advanced degree may substitute year-for-year)
- Expertise in instructional design, curriculum development, adult learning, and multimedia creation
- Knowledge of AI tools and applications in higher education
Schedule
Full-time, 40 hours/week, Monday–Friday; may include evenings and weekends. Currently hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote), subject to change.
Pay & Benefits
$6,492–$6,755/month hiring range (classification range up to $9,458/month); medical, dental, vision, retirement/savings, tuition waiver
