HIM Technician (Per Diem, Glendale)

About the Role

Adventist Health Glendale is seeking an HIM Technician for a Per Diem position, working on-site in Glendale, CA. This role prepares medical records for scanning, retrieves and files paper records, assists with release of information services, and manages birth certificate processing.

What You'll Do

• Retrieve and reconcile medical records from nursing units; prepare records for efficient scanning
• Scan documents, review image quality, and forward to Quality Review
• Interview mothers for birth certificate information; enter data into electronic birth certificate system; process fetal death certificates
• File paper records; pull charts for patient care; retrieve from permanent files and off-site storage
• Assist physicians with chart deficiency inquiries; conduct chart audits
• Ensure scanning equipment is in optimal working condition

Requirements

• High school diploma/GED or equivalent required
• Associate's degree or equivalent combination of education/related experience preferred
• Vaccination requirements apply as a condition of employment
