Emergency Room Registered Nurse, Woodland Hills (Full Time, Nights)

As the leader of the health care team, provides professional nursing care, utilizing the nursing process in accordance with established standards of care, policies, and procedures. What you'll do

Leadership

• Uphold Kaiser Permanente's policies, procedures, and applicable laws.
• Serve as a leader of the health care team; delegate tasks appropriately and demonstrate accountability.
• Understand own and team members' scope of practice and escalate issues as appropriate.
• Mentor, orient, and coach others in unit-specific operations and patient care activities.

Nursing Process

• Develop and/or contribute to the individualized plan of care — assessment, planning, implementing, and evaluating outcomes.
• Ensure the plan reflects multidisciplinary planning, consultation, and education, and is discussed with patient and family in a timely manner.
• Monitor and revise the plan based on patient condition and evaluation of progress.
• Ensure effective discharge planning, including discharge barriers and patient/family education.
• Ensure patient safety related to medications, procedures, falls, and infection prevention.
• Ensure optimal pain control and patient comfort.

Patient Care Experience

• Practice customer service standards as defined by the Service Area, Medical Center, and department.
• Promptly answer call lights, alarms, and patient requests.
• Maintain and protect patient confidentiality.
• Treat patients and families with courtesy, respect, kindness and compassion.
