About the Role
The EHS Director is responsible for ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, and for developing and implementing policies and procedures to protect the health and safety of employees, tenants, visitors, and the community.
Job Responsibilities
- Develop and implement an effective EHS program, including policies, procedures, and training for regulatory compliance
- Institute and meet the inspection schedule and compliance audit expectations
- Oversee the Injury and Illness Prevention Program, including incident/near-miss investigations and corrective actions
- Develop and track EHS training for relevant populations
- Manage interactions with outside agencies (Cal/OSHA, Fire Department, AQMD, CUPA, and local agencies)
- Coordinate with Legal, Studio Design & Construction, Production Services, and Facilities to integrate EHS into Studio operations
- Develop strategies for compliance with new EHS regulations
- Compile and present weekly and monthly metrics to management and Corporate EHS
- Establish and maintain departmental short- and long-term goals
- Manage consultants and contractors, and oversee the Contractor Safety Management Program
- Manage Corporate EHS business audits and corrective-action implementation
- Ensure Gensuite (the EHS information management system) is used to track and document compliance, inspections, and incidents
Requirements
- 10+ years of experience in Environmental Health and Safety
- 5+ years leading and managing EHS programs and projects
- Bachelor's degree in EHS, engineering, chemistry, biology, or a related field
- Comfortable directing through influence; able to manage multiple priorities
- Comfortable with enterprise software; willing to travel up to 20%
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Preferred
- Master's degree in EHS, engineering, science, or a related field
- Certified Safety Professional or Certified Industrial Hygienist
- Experience with Gensuite
- 1-4 years of experience in media, entertainment, or film
Schedule
- Physical requirements: lift/carry up to 25 lbs; stand/walk at least 4 hours/day; work in soundstage perms and at heights; respond to the Safety Hotline and emergencies during and outside work hours
- Required on-site, full-time, at an NBCUniversal-designated worksite
Pay & Benefits
$150,000–$180,000/year (bonus & LTI eligible). Eligible for medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid leave, and tuition reimbursement.
