Encino Hospital Medical Center is a 150-bed state-of-the-art hospital located in Encino, California. Its multi-disciplinary staff consists of 330 physicians and 520 professional support staff.

What you'll do

• Perform waived, moderate, or highly complex tests in Hematology, Blood Bank, Chemistry, Urinalysis, Coagulation, Microbiology, Immunology, and other disciplines using both manual and automated methods
• Adhere to laboratory procedures for the collection, processing, analysis, and reporting of patient test results
• Follow established quality control policies and document all corrective actions when test systems deviate from performance specifications
• Review the accuracy of patient results prior to releasing or reporting
• Recognize age-specific differences in expected results from newborns to geriatrics
• Perform and document daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance on instruments and equipment
• In the absence of a supervisor, may serve as Lead Tech for the section or department during the shift

Qualifications

• Minimum one year of work experience performing high complexity testing in hematology, chemistry, blood bank, and microbiology, OR training at an approved internship program
• Bachelor's Degree in biological science, chemical, physical, or biological science, Medical Laboratory Technology, or equivalent from an accredited institution
• Current and valid California State License
