Associate Veterinarian

Petco Vetco Total Care is hiring an Associate Veterinarian for our full-service veterinary hospital. Our veterinarians are supported by quality equipment (ultrasound, heated hydraulic surgery tables, DDXR) and a skilled paraprofessional team.

What You’ll Do

• Perform physical examinations, diagnose and treat diseases, and provide preventive care.
• Utilize a complete problem-based diagnostic approach for every patient.
• Document all observations, exam findings, treatments, and diagnoses in the medical record.
• Perform routine and complex surgeries (spays/neuters, exploratory, mass removals).
• Perform dental exams, evaluate dental radiographs, and perform extractions.
• Develop treatment plans for hospitalized patients and coordinate with referral hospitals.
• Participate in rounds and help mentor the hospital team.

Requirements

• DVM/VMD from an AVMA-accredited school.
• Active California veterinary license (or ability to obtain by start date).
• Current DEA license.
• USDA Category I Accreditation (or complete within two months of hire).
• Comfortable performing anesthesia and routine surgeries.
• Excellent communication skills; compassionate and professional demeanor.

Pay & Benefits

• $95,600–$203,000/year
