Assistant Professor - Director of Winds Performance

About The Position

CSUN's Department of Music is seeking an Assistant Professor and Director of Winds Performance (Tenure-Track, position #27-24). This full-time, tenure-track faculty position covers woodwinds and brass pedagogy and performance at California State University, Northridge.

Responsibilities

• Teach applied instruction in woodwinds and/or brass instruments
• Conduct and direct wind ensemble/concert band
• Maintain an active performance and scholarly agenda
• Recruit students and develop the winds program
• Participate in department, college, and university service

Qualifications

• Terminal degree (D.M.A. or Ph.D.) in Music or closely related field
• Demonstrated excellence in performance and conducting
• Commitment to undergraduate and graduate music education
• Teaching experience at the university level preferred
