Assistant Professor, Business Law

About the Role

CSUN's Department of Business Law is hiring a tenure-track Assistant Professor to teach undergraduate and graduate business law courses using the Socratic method.

Responsibilities

• Teach business law courses; maintain weekly office hours; attend faculty meetings
• Participate in student learning assessment and departmental service
• Support student engagement activities; maintain an active research and publication record

Requirements

• J.D. or J.S.D. from an ABA-accredited law school; state bar admission at time of application
• College or university-level teaching experience in law or legal studies
• Either a J.S.D. earned within the past five years OR two law review publications within the past five years

Timeline

Effective August 18, 2027 (subject to budgetary approval). Preferred deadline August 20, 2026; position remains open until filled.

Pay

$105,000–$118,000/year, dependent upon qualifications
