Assistant Director Safety & Engineering

About the Role

The Assistant Director will lead the attraction technical/project management team in developing the technical approach for major elements and provide oversight during execution with vendors — covering concept feasibility, scope of work, vendor assessment and selection, risk identification and mitigation, field installation strategy, and testing/acceptance.

What You'll Do

• Make direct engineering contributions on code, standards, and Universal Specification compliance
• Review/approve Ride/Show scope of work and RFPs
• Lead the project technical team in assessing and mitigating technical and schedule risk
• Lead the project team to achieve California DOSH sign-off of new attractions
• Oversee ADA compliance for shows and rides; develop innovations for accessibility
• Drive safety improvements, monitor regulatory compliance, and develop new safety technologies

Requirements

• 15 years required vendor management experience with significant in-field installation experience
• 5 years required related experience; theme park experience (Show Action Equipment / ride systems) highly preferred
• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering preferred
• Proven track record managing teams and mentoring

Pay & Benefits

$145,000–$185,000 (bonus eligible), plus medical, dental, vision, 401(k), paid leave, and tuition reimbursement
