T'ai Chi Fan at Topanga Nursery

Join martial arts and mindfulness instructor, Joelle Nañawa, at Topanga Nursery to somatically explore the flow and foundations of the martial arts fan — a practice that blends balance, precision, and humble strength. Together, we’ll slow down, co-regulate, and move with creative intention as we practice the powerful basics of this beautiful and historically rich martial arts weapon. During class, you’ll be guided through: A brief history of T’ai Chi and the historical use of the fan as a weapon and training tool in various martial arts cultures An invigorating Qigong warm up and balance activation Foundational T’ai Chi stances and body mechanics T’ai Chi fan basics and movement sequences The beginning section of a martial arts fan form A micro practice you can take home with you to help regulate your nervous system, ground yourself, and cultivate more flow and coordination in your daily life This class is open to all levels and designed with beginners in mind. Whether you are new or returning to the practice, you will have the opportunity to deepen your martial arts experience. Spots are limited to 12 participants due to supplies, and to help keep the space supportive and personal. Pre-registration is required to reserve your place. Meeting Area There is a communal meeting area towards the back of the nursery, straight past the JustVibes Cafe truck. Cost $35
