Westside Council Discusses SB 79 Setback Plan

The Westside Neighborhood Council discussed state law SB 79 at its May 14 meeting.

The City Planning Commission had reviewed the measure earlier that day.

A proposal to reduce the required rear setback from 15 feet to 4 feet was discussed.

The commission arrived at an 8-foot rear setback.

Side setbacks under the proposal are 3 feet for the first two stories and 4 feet for the third and fourth stories.

The measure was set to go to the Planning and Land Use Management Committee before a City Council vote.

The minutes note that July 1 was the City's deadline to pass the law.
