West Hills Approves $25,000 Budget With Split Vote

The West Hills Neighborhood Council voted 11 to 0 to approve its 2026-2027 annual budget of $25,000 at its July 2 meeting.

The meeting was held at de Toledo High School.

Board member Joanne Yvanek-Garb stated strong opposition to the Executive Director spending before the vote.

She voted yes on the budget despite that objection.

The council also voted on its 2026-2027 Administrative Packet in a separate motion.

That vote passed 8 to 1, with 2 abstentions.

Yvanek-Garb voted no on the Administrative Packet.

Nick Eskandari and Brenda Citrom abstained.

Controller Saif Mogri reported that year-to-date spending for the outgoing fiscal year reached $33,674.74.

The balance at the end of June was $1,877.85.
