Billion-Dollar Water Project Will Serve Sunland-Tujunga

The Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council heard an update on the Advanced Water Purification Facility at the Donald C. Tillman Water Reclamation Plant.

The project is designed to further purify recycled wastewater and recharge the San Fernando Valley groundwater basin.

Representatives described the expanded project as approximately a $1 billion project.

The facility has generated more than 1,000 jobs and is expected to serve approximately 500,000 homes at full capacity.

Funding comes from four sources, including the State, the City, and the County.
