Sunland-Tujunga Keeps Own Board Selection Process
August 19, 2026 · Neighborhood Councils
The Sunland-Tujunga Neighborhood Council voted to continue conducting its board elections through a Selection process rather than have the City Clerk run the vote.
A motion was made by board President Lydia Grant and seconded by 2nd Vice President Melissa Sagastume.
Grant argued that Selections gave the council more control over how elections are run.
Grant noted that the Selection process did not represent an increase in costs compared to the last time it was conducted.
The motion passed and Selections were baselined for future voting.
