Studio City Tightens How It Fills Board Vacancies
September 8, 2026 · Neighborhood Councils
Studio City Neighborhood Council voted 8 to 5 to change how it fills vacant board seats.
The new rule requires at least two nominees for each vacant seat before any vote can proceed.
Under the change, a board member must formally nominate and second any vacancy applicant.
The rule also allows board members and community members to question nominees before a vote.
Victoria Brown, Dean Cutler, Daniel Fuselier, Dimitri Gatsiounis, and Laurie Rittenberg voted no.
Some board members raised concern that the rule could make it harder to fill a seat when only one qualified person is available.
The council voted on August 26, 2026.
