Studio City Takes Aim at Universal Coaster Noise

Studio City Neighborhood Council voted 13-1 on August 26, 2026, to affirm a Greater Toluca Lake Neighborhood Council resolution calling for immediate action on noise from the Fast & Furious roller coaster at Universal Studios.
Toluca Lake and Studio City residents described persistent rider screams affecting homes and outdoor use during public comment.
Board discussion also addressed Universal's prior mitigation commitments and the adequacy of current sound barriers.
The council sent its affirmation to Councilmembers Adrin Nazarian and Nithya Raman along with other identified officials.
The only no vote came from Matt Thompson.
